Open Class
Everyone works on a pattern of their choosing. We collaborate before class regarding colors and goals. This is a 2 to 3 day class. Bring your own pattern or I can help with some ideas. If you would like to look at some of my patterns, just click here. You can also browse through the gallery for other ideas.
Plaid Class
We focus on a piece that incorporates plaiding technique somewhere in the pattern, generally the plaid is done in the border of my designs. We can also learn plaid by hooking coasters. This is a 2 to 3 day class that requires using a #3 cut.
Beginner Class
We learn the history of rug hooking and what different back8ngs are available. We learn about good wool and not so good wool. You are introduced to the hooking technique and basic tools. A simple pattern is provided along with wool. You will learn how to use a cutter, and you will cut your own wool following the straight of grain. A 3-day class spread over three weeks.
This class focuses on the Woven pattern. You will learn how to figure your wool amount for your rug, and you will dip dye your own wool. By 1:00pm (after lunch) on the first day you will be hooking on your piece. This is a two day class.
